Anavana (Formerly Poppies Samui) Is A Wonderful Boutique Resort

Anavana is a wonderful boutique resort and was formerly known as Popppies Samui Beach Resort. About 10% of the staff are from the time when the property was named Poppies and the family like atmosphere among the staff has survived the changes necessitated due to the economic challenges caused by covid. Based on everything I have experienced the property is essentially the same with some improvements to the cottages, such as new flooring and upgraded electrical services. The quality to the food and service at the restaurant remains excellent. If you have been here before PLEASE return and give this beautify property your support. If you have not been here before but are looking for authentic Thai ambiance, lush garden with fish ponds, streams and orchids and a very affordable stay this is the place to go. We love this resort and hope to return again for many years.

Wonderful Facility

Very great small private and family complex! The food was fantastic (both the breakfast and the food in the own restaurant). We really enjoyed the stay. Thanks to the whole Anavana team!

Thailand As It Was

If you are looking for the original Thailand, you are in the right place. The houses are located in a very well maintained garden, with old trees. The staff is very friendly, even warm. Breakfast is more Asian oriented. But it is also thought of European taste. All coffee and teas available. The restaurant is right on the beach with a wonderful view of the beach. Located in the quiet part of Chaweng

A Hidden Gem At The Quiet End Of Chaweng

We first stayed at the Anavana Beach Resort back when it was still known as Poppies. The name has changed, but the incredible service, the perfect location, and that wonderful feeling of being in paradise have remained. Every visit feels like coming home. The staff always recognize us, greet us warmly, and genuinely seem happy to see us return. The cottages are spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The entire property is beautifully maintained and full of charm. You can tell it’s not a brand-new resort, but everything is kept in excellent condition, and any repairs are taken care of immediately. The restaurant is among the best on the island, award-winning and consistently excellent. The breakfast buffet is small but tasty, and you can order almost anything you wish. The spa services are also outstanding. The beach is always clean and well cared for, as is the lovely pool area. The resort is located at the southern end of Chaweng Beach – just a few hundred meters away from the large, noisy party resorts. That makes it much quieter, both at the beach and along the road, yet it’s still only a short walk to where the nightlife and shops are. There’s also plenty of parking space in front for scooters or rental vehicles. The real highlight, though, is the team – especially the wonderful Ame, the on-site manager. She runs the resort with heart, skill, and an incredible sense of care. Ame has been the heart and soul of the place for many years. She fulfills every wish, always with a smile, and makes every guest feel special. She’s a big reason why we’ll be spending another two weeks here next year. A huge thank you to Ame and the entire Anavana team – you are truly amazing. This little piece of paradise comes with my highest recommendation.

Paradise Perfected

We arrived at Anavana Resort late at night after a long day’s travel. We were greeted warmly and welcomed with a refreshing drink and cold towel. Anavana’s location is pure magic - peaceful and private set in lush tropical gardens and right on the beach. The villas are a haven from the outside world, cool, comfortable and charming. We loved the little stream that flowed by our windows, so soothing and calming. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, always pleased to greet you and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The food and beverages were absolutely divine, a delicious fusion of local flavours and international cuisine. The meals were always fresh and beautifully presented…with a smile. Anavana offers a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Spa treatments are on offer and tours are organised with care by the resort staff. Our holiday at Anavana exceeded our expectations, a soul-soothing retreat that will not disappoint. We left feeling very grateful, blessed and happy. We shall return!
